I love to choose dark, rich, shades in the winter. Think nutmeg or chocolate. Basic black is always a nice option as well. The deeper shades complement winter clothing choices- layers of cottons, silks or wools, in my case. Nothing like a cocoa brown bralette under a steely silk camisole paired with a woven shirt and cashmere sweater. Layers make for comfortable warmth in the winter as well as style.
Another important winter addition is the silk slip. Real silk adds a layer of warmth and just feels so good against your skin. A slip in a dark neutral pairs with almost anything and can be worn so many ways. Slips shouldn’t be treated like precious objects: silk is relatively durable, for a fine fabric, and can be washed and worn and loved for years.
