The reality of being a maker

There is this thing that happens when you have a creative personality and then start a business.

The reality is that actual artistic process and business processes, at least for me, come from different parts of the psyche. Or the soul, who knows.

So let’s imagine you like making clothes: it’s an intensely creative and cool process for you and thus you decide to start a business. Suddenly, you are dealing with production and inventory ten times more than the time you are spending creating.

Readying styles for production uses completely different toolset than the creative design process.

It requires a different mindset and different mood. Shifting at will between those two modes is the challenge of working on your creative project.
