The exhaustive and nearly-complete guide to Brook There underwear, bras, and lingerie fit. Buying for someone else? This might help- but please do try to get your giftee’s measurements.
We’ll aim to explain the details of all our styles, cuts, and a size guide. Plus, you might learn somethings about lingerie in general.
First Things First: What size am I?
A size chart is a good place to start, but it has its limitations. Circumference measurements are taken off a few key points on the body, but it is important to note: these measurements are only approximations of how something will fit… because like we have learned with BMI and body density, not all weights are the same. Two people can have the exact same measurements at some part of their figure, but have completely different body shapes and heights.
Start with the size chart and your measurements, and consider the types of shapes and fits that you have worn happily in the past. These are the two important pieces of information.
Let’s start simple: Underwear.
Fitting underwear is much, much simpler than fitting bras.
- Note your waist measurement (around your belly button)
- Take your hip measurement- around the widest part of your bottom
- For some styles, like the boyshort, take your thigh measurement
- A good fit should cling, but the elastic shouldn’t dig into your skin.
The Bikini Undie
This is the most classic of underwear styles: ours has a full coverage bottom and measures approximately 1.5″ at the sides. Trimmed in soft and stretchy fold-over elastic. Medium weight organic cotton jersey (186 grams/square meter.)

Shown in: light gray and rose quartz.
The Hipster Undie
A more modern shape, with a wider side (approximately 3″) and a full-coverage bottom. Trimmed in soft and stretchy fold-over elastic. Medium weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (186 grams/square meter.)

Shown in: light gray and rose quartz.
The Thong
A thong is always a classic choice for figure-framing garments. Ours measures approximately 1″ at center back. Trimmed in soft and stretchy fold-over elastic. Medium weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (186 grams/square meter.)

Shown in light gray.
The Boyshort
This is a very full-coverage style of bottom that is great for sleep, under loose and short dresses, under long t-shirts, or what have you. We recommend taking your thigh measurement as well. All the elastic on this style is fabric-covered. Medium weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (186 grams/square meter.)
Shown in Mineral Blue.
The High Brief
Designed to almost reach the belly button, creating a very traditional silhouette. Great for wearers of dresses. Classically feminine. Trimmed in modern elastic piping. Light weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (136 grams/square meter.)

Shown in Macaron.
The Curve Bikini
A narrower cut bikini for those who like a little sharper look. Trimmed in modern elastic piping. Light weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (136 grams/square meter.)

The Alchemy Brief
Pairing real stretch silk with organic cotton base, the Alchemy brief is a sultry and modern alternative to lacy lingerie. Trimmed in soft foldover elastic. Medium weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (186 grams/square meter.) Silk portion: 92% silk, 8% spandex.

Next Up: The Bras
Fitting bras, as everyone knows, is a little mysterious. We’re trying to describe complex shapes with a few circumference measurements. A size chart is just a place to start. Some things to know:
- Lingerie Brands use the same numbers and letters to indicate different real-world sizes. This is a very important thing to grasp and it means you must measure, read the chart, and try on. Just as a size 8 dress doesn’t refer to some actual measurement in inches or centimeters taken from your body, a bra size is not some universal elemental measurement. Read here for more details.
- Start with your underbust measurement.
- Add your full bust measurement.
- Compute your size on the chart below.
- And remember- this is only a guideline. You might wear a different size depending on how your body is actually shaped.
Now, on to some frequently asked questions:
Do you have padded bras or styles with “modesty” cups?
No, we don’t. Most of our bra styles use a double layer of fabric in the cup, which creates a light level of nipple coverage. We have not found a source for a sustainable type of foam or foam alternative that is also wash and dry. Our cups are shaped with seams, as are all cut & sew styles- this means that they are not going to appear seamless underneath a tight tshirt. This is a tradeoff we have chosen- we don’t currently have a way of making a seamless cup using organic cotton.
Do you have any larger cup sizes or wired bras?
The largest cup size we currently offer is a C/D in each band size. Our basic styles developed out of a desire for a comfortable, good coverage, wireless bralette. This pattern design does not lend itself well to larger sizes that require more support- which is why the size range is limited. The most shaped cup we offer is in the pixy bra.
We don’t use wires in our cups and likely never will. Our brand’s aesthetic and values are natural and comfortable. There are hundreds of brands out there that make padded and wired bras. We are not amongst them.
Do you make bras with back closures?
Currently, we do not. It is something we might add in the future, but it is at least a year away.
The Triangle Bra
The Triangle Bra was our first lingerie product and remains our most popular: wireless, slip-on classic triangle shape. Cups are double layered fabric, and shaped with darts. Provides decent support for A-C cups. Adjustable straps. Trimmed in soft and stretchy fold-over elastic. Medium weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (186 grams/square meter.)
Shown in Light Gray and Latte.
The Curve Convertible Bra
Named for the curved seaming that shapes the cup, our newest style also has convertible straps- wear crossed in back or classic vertical. Double layer cups. Slip-on style with adjustable straps. Provides decent support for A-C cups. Trimmed in modern elastic piping. Light weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (136 grams/square meter.)
Shown in Macaron.
The Pixy Bra
This is our most structured and shaped silhouette. As always, our styles are cut & sew, which means that the cups are shaped by seaming (this allows us to use domestically milled organic cotton!) Seams will show under tight clothing- try pairing it with a looser style woven shirt.
The Pixy bra has double layered cups with a horizontal shaping seam. Wider straps (1/2″) and a wide covered elastic band at the underbust help this bra be both supportive and comfortable. As always, slip-on with adjustable straps. Trimmed in soft and stretchy fold-over elastic. Medium weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (186 grams/square meter.)

The Alchemy Bra
The Alchemy Bra is a sultry and sustainable alternative to lacy lingerie: the bra cups are single layer organic cotton, and cut lower in the center front. The wide underbust band is silk covered elastic- both comfortable and sleek. Slip-on style with adjustable straps. Trimmed in soft foldover elastic. Medium weight organic cotton jersey with spandex. (186 grams/square meter.) Silk portion: 92% silk, 8% spandex.
